God didn’t call Moses to service till he was 80 years old and Noah didn’t finish the ark till he was 120 years old, so Seniors grab the tool box, it’s time to get started! At Ellicott City Assembly of God, there is a lot for our “Seasoned Saints” to do to keep them busy running the race that God has set before them.
Ladies Fellowship Teas- What is more fun and elegant than afternoon tea, with lots of pretty hats, cucumber sandwiches, tea cookies and great fellowship? The Ladies get their favorite cups and saucers out, share a message from the Word of God and enjoy a warm cup of tea and a friendly smile.
Assisted Living Ministry- Those in assisted living need Jesus as much as anyone, and so The ECAG Seniors bring Sunday services to them. Our “ Seasoned Saints” preach, lead worship, and lend a warm hand to those in assisted living homes in the area. Every other week on Sunday afternoons they travel the roads of Howard and Baltimore County in search of souls and tender hearts, and have been blessed by leading many to Christ.
Prayer Chain- Though not restricted to our seniors, they have been the leaders of this vital ministry for the last 10 years. Whenever anyone in the congregation has a need, they can call the prayer chain 24 hours a day and our prayer warriors go to battle interceding for the need. They meet every Tuesday morning for intercessory prayer and coffee and seek the Lord on behalf of the church.
Senior Trips- Sometimes you just don’t want those 50 year old kids tagging along on a trip and occasionally the seniors will head out on their own. Christmas Concerts at the National Cathedral, Lunches at a special Restaurant, or even a trip to Longwood gardens are days of laughter, fun and fellowship. And with all of those senior discount cards, the price is always reasonable too.
