REAL Teens-David was just a teenager when God used him in a mighty way, and though we don't have our teens regularly slaying giants, we have plenty of other cool things to keep them busy. Perhaps the coolest thing that teens get to experience at ECAG is " The Rock" a room with rock walls, a performance stage, game room, sofas and their very own snack bar. It's a great teen hang out where they can come, have fun, and talk about what God is doing in their lives. It also allows them time to be themselves, which for a teenager is a lot of work just in itself. " The Rock" is the hub of all teen ministries and activities and is located downstairs from the sanctuary.
Youth Convention- 3000 teens getting together to talk about what is going on in their lives, taking time to worship together and learning about their walk with God, is an awesome sight and is what Youth Convention is all about. This three-day event brings Christian kids together on a regional basis and helps to encourage them in their faith as well as provide a unique forum for them to learn about themselves and the world around them. ECAG loads up "The Cool Bus" and takes 10 to 20 kids every year that come back changed and more on fire for the Lord than ever before.
National Fine Arts Competition- Every year kids all over the country get together to perform to a common theme all types of performance based skits, music, art, writing and speaking categories. Thousands of kids compete regionally to give glory to God through the use of their performing skills and for a chance to get invited to perform and compete at the National Fine Arts Competition held somewhere in the United States. Over 20,000 kids compete and ECAG has had national award winners, regional winners, but most importantly winners who just went and gave God the Glory by doing their best for him in whatever talent that they had.
Mission Trips-If you want to change your life, go on a mission trip, and every year the teens at ECAG do just that. Whether a city in the continental US, like Philadelphia or Miami or somewhere like the slums of Mexico City or the country of Honduras the kids get a chance to share God's love to those less fortunate than themselves. Sometimes they run bible school programs, sometimes they lead worship, and sometimes they just share their hearts. In all these things they show God's love through their actions in the hopes of changing the World, one Life at a Time.
Youth Drama Team- Music Videos, Dramas, and plays are the tools these teens use to impact the church and to further God's Kingdom. The Drama Group is always working on new and fun material that can be used as a part to the Sunday Service, for special events like the Christmas Eve Service or as part of a special series of messages. Sometimes funny, sometimes heart wrenching, sometimes thought provoking, but always an exciting message about God's Love in our lives. This group of teens will be better prepared to deliver God's message because they stepped out in these dramatic presentations.
Youth Worship Band- 8:30 AM Sunday morning services rock with the voices and instruments of the Youth Worship Band. Drums, Guitars, Keyboard, and Bass along with voices full of love for the Lord, lead the congregation in praise and song. The Youth band plays contemporary Christian songs and adds a pure sense of worship by giving their musical talents for God's Glory.
Wednesday and Sunday Nights in "
The Rock"- Whenever God gets 60 teens together to hear a message about His call on their life, that combines skits, games, music, fun, and food, you know that teens are going to want to be there. These times of fellowship for students in the teen years allow for growth and self-examination while getting biblical insight. The message is about their lives and the call that God has placed on it, but the setting is about fun, fellowship, and being a teenager. Afterwards they can play pool, a little ping-pong, grab a snack, chat with new friends and hang out in a place where they can be themselves. " The Rock" is a place to be a teenager, where it's cool to love the Lord.
